Bainbridge Township Board of Commissioners met June 9.

Here is the agenda provided by the board:

Open the meeting at 10:00 a.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance.

1. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and execute the minutes for the meeting of May 5, 2020.

2. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and execute the minutes for the meeting of May 12, 2020.

3. The Commissioners’ Office will report on financials from June 2, 2020, Resolution #20-062, as approved by the County Administrator pursuant to Resolution #20-005, approved January 7, 2020 to authorize the County Administrator to execute, in the case of a lack of quorum of Commissioners and / or if session is cancelled on a regular financial day or on a day when financials need to be approved, the required approvals for county financials on behalf of the Board during the Year 2020, as authorized by O.R.C. 305.30.

4. The Commissioners’ Office will report on the items approved June 2, 2020 and June 8, 2020 by the County Administrator, authorized by Resolution #20-005 under the direction and supervision of the County Commissioners that was approved January 7, 2020, pursuant to O.R.C. 305.30.

5. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #20-063 itemizing the financials for the meeting of June 9, 2020.

6. The Commissioners’ Office is requesting the Board grant permission to advertise to hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. to discuss the Geauga County 2021 Tax Budget. Notice of this Public Hearing will be advertised on June 18, 2020 and on the County website.

7. The Auditor’s Office is requesting the Board approve the elimination of the FX lines and required hardware interfaces on the County phone system as a new 800 number has been set up and is operational. This will prove to be a cost savings measure for the County.

8. The Board of Developmental Disabilities is requesting the Board award the Contract to Empire Paving, LLC to perform necessary Paving Repairs and Improvements as they were the lowest and most responsive competitive bid through Sourcewell, (Joint Purchasing Program) and further approve and execute the Contract Agreement in the amount of $78,290.35.

9. The Planning Commission is requesting the Board approve and execute the Re-Plat of Sublots #10 and #11 in Hunting Valley Preserve in Chester Township.

10. The Department of Development (Building) is requesting the Board waive the 200 hour vacation accrual for Larry Heiden for ninety days through August 31, 2020 due to staff shortages during the busy part of the season.

11. The Department of Development (Building) is requesting the Board approve and execute Resolution #20- 064 Honoring Michael Mihalisin on the occasion of his Retirement and Dedicated Service of Thirty-seven Years to Geauga County.

12. The Maintenance Department is requesting the Board grant permission to advertise for the position of Maintenance Worker (#1904). This position will remain posted until filled.

13. The Department of Water Resources is requesting the Board amend the motion from May 28, 2020 to correct the award amount to read: award the Bid to TRAX Construction Company in the amount of $5,077,215.49 with the option of Alternate 1 as a deduction amount of $29,124.00, as they represented the lowest and best bid. The Bid Bond submitted shall be held to serve as the Performance Bond for this project.

14. The Department of Water Resources is requesting the Board approve and execute Change Order #2, increasing the Contract with Workman Industrial Services, Incorporated for the Auburn Corners Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion and Troy Oaks Pump Station Upgrade to cover additional costs for the removal of 120 CY of structural concrete and concrete structural modifications in the amount of $19,383.31.

a) The Monthly Financial Report from the County Building Department for the month of May, 2020.

b) Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities Board Minutes for April 15, 2020.

c) A weekly report filed by the County Dog Warden of all dogs seized, impounded, redeemed or destroyed for the weeks ending May 20, 2020 and May 27, 2020 as required by O.R.C. 955.12.

d) A monthly report filed by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office of an account of expenses for the Prisoner Transport for the month ending May, 2020 as required by O.R.C. 325.07.

e) The Monthly Inventory Report, Consolidated Investment Portfolio and Obligations and Securities monthly reports filed by the Treasurer’s Office for Geauga County for the Month of May 2020, pursuant to ORC 135.35(L).
