New Salem Fire Protection District responded to six calls in 2018 - 62.5 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in New Salem included five fires - three structure fires, one vehicle fire and one other fire.

The department also received one false call.

The New Salem Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $55,734 in 2018.
