Colchester Fire Protection District responded to 26 calls in 2018 - 16.1 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Colchester included 23 fires - eight structure fires, two vehicle fires and 13 other fires.

In all, the department saw $55,000 in fire loss - or about $2,391 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

Two fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.

The Colchester Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $210,227 in 2017.
