Emmet-Chalmers FPD responds to 13 fires in 2018

Emmet-Chalmers Fire Protection District responded to 14 calls in 2018 - 22.2 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Emmet-Chalmers included 13 fires - two structure fires, one vehicle fire and 10 other fires.

In all, the department saw $87,800 in fire loss - or about $6,754 per fire.

The department also received one false call.
