Q1 2020 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Scott County?

There were two offenders released on parole during the first quarter of 2020 that live in Scott County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter.

The data shows that both of the released offenders in Scott County were men. The younger parolee was a 37-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019. The other was a 49-year-old man sentenced for a crime involving drugs in 2019.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Chad L. Lonergan. He was convicted of a crime involving one or more weapons in 2019 when he was 36 years old. He is now 37.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter of 2020 in each Scott County municipality with at least one parolee in the quarter.
