Hancock County Finance, Fees and Salaries Committee met Sept. 10.

Here is the minutes provided by the committee:

The Finance, Fees, and Salaries meeting was held in the Hancock County Board Room at 9:00am. Members present were Wayne Bollin, Chairman, Janet Fleming, Mark Menn, Bryan Stevens, Harry Douglas, Steve Bolton and Delbert Kreps, Chairman of the Board. Absent was Mark Hanson.

Keith Krohe, with the County Health Insurance entered the meeting and reviewed the 9-month past with the committee and what he thought it would be for next year. Everything looks good and may be able to keep it pretty much the same. He answered several of the members questions and stated he would be back next month.

Holly Wilde-Tillman, Chief Deputy County Clerk entered the meeting and introduced herself and will be appointed by the Board at a special meeting Friday, September 11, 2020 as the new County Clerk, to fill the two-year expired term of Kerry Asbridge. Holly informed them she had worked for the County Clerk for 20 years before having to leave and had been working since Tuesday and is working with several people to get back going. If anyone has any questions feel free to contact her. Holly also informed the members that she will be getting $32,000.00 from the Cares Act for the Election and $9,000.00 for postage.

Kris Pilkington, County Treasurer passed out the Budgetary Reports and the reimbursement from the State of Illinois. The members did discuss with her and Holly regarding some funds in the County Clerks office that need to be turned over to the Treasurer's office monthly. Kris stated she will be making a third distribution this week and was hoping to have the Tax Sale on October 26, 2020 at 9:00am. Kris also stated she was getting some funds that has to be used or will lose it, and hers is not the Cares Act it is another fund.

Wayne discussed that Belwether had given him a copy of the tentative budget, but they still have some work to do on it.

Under New Business: Wayne explained that Rachel Mast has ask him to present the resolution for the hiring of Rasmussen and Dittmer, LLC as the Public Defender for 2020-2021 tax year for the sum of $92,000.00. A motion was made Mark Menn to present the Resolution to the full board full board for approval. Harry Douglas seconded the motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.

Holly entered the meeting and asked it a tax deed number 06-21-000-550 could be released for property in La Harpe with buyer getting $450. Motion was made by Steve Bolton to have this deed transferred by the full board and seconded y Bryan Stevens. All vote aye. Motion carried.

Delbert State he had a letter from Methode and they will be fully closed down by May of 2021.

Fifty-five claims were reviewed for payment. A motion was made by Mark Menn to present them for payment. Bryan Stevens seconded the motion. Alvoted aye. Motion carried.

The members discussed and budget meeting to be held next week and was decided to have it on the 16th a 7:00pm.

Having nothing further to discuss a motion was made by Steve Bolton to recess until September 16, 2020 at 7:00pm. Bryan Stevens seconded to motion. All voted aye. Motion carried.
