City of Bushnell City Council Met October 19

City of Bushnell City Council met Oct. 19.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Roll Call

Treasurer

*City Treasurer Dan Cortelyou reported on the revenues for the month of September and year date.

*Cortelyou stated that he has finished the tax levy.

Cleaning of recreation center for election

*Mayor Wilt stated that the rec. center needed to be cleaned before and after the election.

The council agreed with a general consensus to hire Mary White to come in and clean.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from October 5, 2020

2. Accept September Financial Report.

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report)

1. VFW ladies auxiliary will be having a Trunk or Treat on Halloween from 5:00 to 6:30.

2. Mayor Wilt reminded the council to turn in their time sheets.

3. Covid status in the county is 11.7%. There has been an outbreak at Bowsers.

4. IDPH will hold a covid screening at the Bushnell High School on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 From 9 to 5!

5. Mayor Wilt has set up a flu clinic for the city employees on October 28, 2020

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Next meeting will Thursday October 29 @ 5:00

Ald. Norton made a motion to give the city clerk position a 4% increase each year for the next 4 years. Ald. C Howell seconded the motion. A roll call vote was held with the results as follows:

Public Works

*Public Works director Justin Griffith stated that the city has been awarded $123,000 from the Local Cure Act. He has made a list of items to be reimbursed for.

*Griffith stated that the Utility type ordinance violations should be handled in the city hall.

*TEST supervisor Greg Fulkerson reported on the storm sewer issues, stating that after Reviewing the RO plant the membranes are doing well and we will not need to be replaced for a couple of years.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Minutes from the October 12, 2020 committee meeting.

*ESDA director Jeff Rench stated that they were working on restocking the storm shelter.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Nothing to report

Engineering

*Megan Crook of IMEG stated that we should start seeing material for the new well this

Week and should start working next week.

*Hoerr should be back by the end of the month to wrap up the sanitary sewer project.

Contracts

*Nothing to report

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney Chuck Laegeler stated the he has the document for the Patty Sullivan case ready to be signed.

*Laegeler stated that he hoped to have the title work for the Donnie Brush case by the next meeting.

*American Tower has switched Attorney’s so they do not have the document ready.

*The ICC fine is $21,600, Public Works director Justin Griffith recommended to offer to pay half of the fine.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn at 6:27
