City of Beardstown issued the following announcement on Dec. 27.
The Cass County Health Department is reporting 49 new cases of Covid in Cass County. Over the holiday weekend, CCHD followed up with 10 new cases to notify them of their positive results and provide instructions on isolation. Today’s results include 39 additional positives. All new cases have been notified and instructed to isolate at home; close contacts have also been notified and instructed to quarantine. None of the new cases are associated with any long-term care facility; they are all a result of community spread transmission.

CCHD is releasing our weekly graphics today to update our community on last week’s totals. These figures represent numbers through Friday, 12/25. Today’s numbers will appear on next week’s report.
The Cass County Health Department would like to remind residents to remain vigilant and reduce Covid-19 spread. Maintain social distance, wear a mask when in public, wash your hands frequently, and stay home if you or someone in your home feels sick. We urge our residents to take all appropriate measures to stop the spread.
