City of Bushnell City Council Met Jan. 18.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Roll Call

Mayor Wilt read the National Mentoring Month Proclamation and thanked the Big Brothers Big Sisters for all of their great work.

Micro Grant Approval

*Kim Pierce of MAEDCO stated that 11 applicants will receive the micro grants for $5,645.90.

The checks should be dispersed by the end of the week. The city will front the money for these

Grants and should be paid back within 90 days.

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the micro grants. Ald. Norton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Treasurer

*City Treasurer Dan Cortelyou stated that we got our final Audit for the year ending April 2020.

*Cortelyou wants to set up Budget meetings for next year with all departments starting the first week of February.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from January 4, 202

2. Accept December Financial Report.

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report

*Mayor Wilt stated that Region 2 has moved into Tier 1, which means Restaurants & Bars may have inside dining up to 25% capacity.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Next meeting Thursday 28th at 5:00 @ City Hall

*Mayor Wilt informed council that the staff at the Utility office were in quarantine, and The staff from City Hall were taking payments and such, but they have never been Cross-trained so they were limited to what could be done. Public Works

*Minutes from January 7th meeting.

*Ald. C Howell stated the committee discussed a request from Albrecht Drilling for a work Order change for an increase of $5,000 due to an increase in the price of the steel piping used for the casing. The committee tabled the item, until they have more information about any Future increases.

*IMEG inquired about the city’s intentions for the motor fuel tax for FY 2021. IMEG Suggested we could possibly have some streets rehabilitated by grinding them and oil/chip the surface and a question if blacktop would be feasible. The committee asked if IMEG Would research pricing for the rehabilitation and black top.

*BNSF Crossing Updates – BNSF sent us confirmation that the railroad has completed the crossing work in question.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Minutes from the meeting on January 11, 2021.

*Ald. Lorton stated that they would be advertising for officers.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*YMCA Discussion – The YMCA wants to pull out of the recreation center in Bushnell, because it is no longer financially feasible for the YMCA. The committee will meet with the YMCA personal to Discuss the matter.

Engineering

Ald. C Howell made a motion to pass a resolution to spend $76,000 from MFT for chip and oil for the roads. Ald. Lorton seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:
