McDonough County Board Met Feb. 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the  board:

The monthly meeting of the McDonough County Board was held at the McDonough County Courthouse at 7:00 p.m. Roll Call resulted in 17 present, and 4 absent. Sheriff Nick Petitgout made the opening declaration.

Chair Schwerer led the Pledge of Allegiance.

EXHIBIT 1

Board Member Nissen moved with a second by Board Member Foster to approve the minutes of January 20,

2021. Motion carried with a voice vote.

EXHIBIT 2

The report from Public Defender, Stephanie Hilton for the month of January, 2021 was received and filed.

EXHIBIT 3

The report of Sales Tax collected in November 2020 was received and filed. County Sales Tax, Public Safety tax, and Transportation Tax were all down from the previous month.

EXHIBIT 4

The report of Balances and Investments from County Treasurer Graves for the month of January, 2021 was received and filed.

EXHIBIT 5

The report of Circuit Clerk Wilson for the month of January, 2021 was received and filed.

EXHIBIT 6

The report from County Clerk DeJaynes on Warrants Issued in Vacation for the month of January, 2021 was received and filed.

EXHIBIT 7

The Transfer of Appropriations of Monies was referred to the Finance Committee. Member Hiel reported the finance committee did not transfer any funds.

EXHIBIT 8

Board Member Aurelio moved with a second by Board Member Clark to approve the report of the Finance Committee as read. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 17 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 4 absent as Exhibit 8A.

EXHIBIT 9

Board Member Nissen moved with a second by Board Member Durkin to dispense with the reading of the claims report and to approve it as approved by the Claims Committee. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 17 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 4 absent as Exhibit 9A.

EXHIBIT 10

MDH CEO Brian Dietz gave a presentation to the Board. Dietz informed the Board that they will be relocating the OB/GYN Offices. Dietz also spoke on numerous Construction Projects, Physician Recruitment, Financial Performance, and gave updates on COVID-19 as Exhibit 10A.

EXHIBIT 11

Member Cox moved with a second by Member Nissen to approve The Memorandum of Understanding Between McDonough County and The West Prairie Water District. Motion carried on a voice vote as Exhibit 11A.

EXHIBIT 12

Member McGrew moved with a second by Member Cox to Approve the Highway Department Credit Card. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 17 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 4 absent as Exhibit 12A.

EXHIBIT 13

Member Calvert moved with a second by Member Durkin to Approve the Resolution for Joint Funding for Resurfacing of CH-24, Section # 19-00111-0-RS. Motion carried on a Roll Call vote of 17 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 4 absent as Exhibit 13A.

EXHIBIT 14

Member McLean moved with a second by Member Aurelio to Approve the Extension of the Proclamation to Declare McDonough County a Disaster until 3/19/2021 as Exhibit 14A.

PUBLIC COMMENT

None.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Member Clark gave a short report on the Memorandum of Agreement that is being discussed at the HR & Planning Committee meetings concerning a new Animal Shelter as Exhibit 17A.

Chair Schwerer entertained a motion that Days and Miles are checked, Roll be called, and the Board adjourn until Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. Board Member Aurelio made the motion with a second by Board Member Foster. Motion carried with a Roll Call vote of 17 yeas, 0 nays, 0 pass, and 4 absent. With no further business to discuss the meeting adjourned at 7:46 p.m.
