City of Bushnell City Council Met May 17.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Pro Tem Lorton called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Roll Call

Ald. Donna Coates - P    Ald. Greg Yocum –P     Mayor Robin Wilt – A

*Mayor Pro Tem Lorton stated that the city has received the money for the American Tower sale.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Coates made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from May 3, 2021

2. Accept April Financial/Treasurers Report.

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Howell “aye”       Ald. Allen “aye”

Ald. Havens “aye”      Ald. Lorton “aye”

Ald. Norton “aye”       Ald. Baker “aye”

Where upon Mayor Pro Tem Lorton declared the motion carried.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Ald. Norton recommended moving Jordon Thompson from the street dept. to the gas Dept. Thompson already has experience in the gas dept and should be able to get certified within a couple of weeks.

Ald. Norton made a motion to move Jordon Thompson from the street department to the gas department. Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Pro Tem Lorton declared the motion carried.

Ald. Norton recommended the following Employee Compensation for Fiscal Year 2021-22

Recommended Employee Compensation for Fiscal Year 2021/22

1.) HI: Continue Premiums Cost Share @ 90/10%.

2.) IMRF: Continue Current Support.

3.) Full-Time Hourly Employees not governed by bargaining unit contracts (department Foreman…R. Rhodes, R. Brown, C. Heath) to receive an increase of $0.55 /hr.

4.) Supervisors: To receive an increase of $1,250 /yr.

5.) Crossing Guards: Increase up to @ $13.50 /hr

6.) ESDA Coordinator: Increase up to @ $3,350.00 /yr

7.) ACO: No change, to remain @ $440.00 /mo.

8.) Web-Page Maintenance: No change, to remain @ $1,000.00 /yr

9.) Part-time Police: Increase up to $17.52 /hr.

All Increases are Retro back to May 1, 2021

Ald. Yocum made a motion to approve the employee compensation for fiscal year 2021-22. Ald. Havens seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

*Ald. Yocum stated that they had narrowed down the candidates for the Utility Supervisor, And they would be interviewing next week.

Public Works

*Next meeting May 18, 2021 3:00 @ Police Complex

*Ald. Howell stated that the school wanted to put their antennas on the water tower.

*Ald. Howell stated that the president of the pool board informed him that they would be using liquid chlorine this year instead of the chlorine gas.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

Ald. Lorton made a motion to fence off the VFW parking lot for their 95 th Anniversary, July 10. Ald. Coates seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

*Street Superintendent Raymond reminded everyone to not blow your grass out in the street.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Coates stated that the after-prom committee donated $100 to the rec. center

*Ald. Coates reported that the roof at the rec. center need some work and they would Be putting it out for bid.

*The Rec center Fitness center will be opening up soon and their will be more information Coming out on the website and Facebook.

Engineering

*Megan Crook from IMEG stated that the water tower is going to need coated in the next 5 years or so.

*Crook said they bottomed out on the new well at 1519 Ft, and would be doing some more testing on it.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*City Attorney stated that the Patty Sullivan demolition was still scheduled for late June, he is Working on a contract with Stoneking.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn.
