Village of Chapin Board of Trustees General Control/Administration Committee Met June 23.
Here is the minutes provided by the committee:
Village President K. Drake called the meeting to order at 6:00p.m. Those in attendance were Trustee Loren Hamilton, Trustee Mary Rae Brockhouse, Trustee Mark Lovekamp and Village President Ken Drake. Items discussed were off street vehicles and a committee to review Village Ordinances.
Village President K. Drake will propose an ordinance review committee to look at all Village ordinances and will be looking for volunteers for the committee as soon as possible. The committee also discussed how to improve the off-street vehicle ordinance. Some of the ideas were to eliminate 3-4 wheel ATV’s, letting current permits expire and not issuing new, have a special events permit for event such as Big Country Days, snow removal, etc. Golf carts and UTV’s will continue with slight changes. Price for new permits will be $75 and renewals will be $25. All permits will expire at the same time, probably on April 30th with new permits beginning on May 1st. ATV’s and UTV’s will need windshields and seat belts along with current requirements.
Trustee M. Lovekamp left the meeting at 7:55pm.
A motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:00pm was made by Trustee M. Brockhouse. A second was made by Trustee L. Hamilton. Roll Call: Trustee M. Brockhouse yea, Trustee L. Hamilton yea, Trustee M. Lovekamp absent. Motion carried. 2 yea, 0 nay, 1 absent.
