City of Macomb Marketing & Downtown Development Department issued the following announcement on Sep. 3.
McCarthy Improvement has finished removal in the first block of the northeast corner of N. Randolph St. and Carroll St. Contractors have started setting and pouring curb & gutter. By the end of next week, September 10, 2021, contractors will be forming and pouring sidewalks in that section. While work is occurring in the area, N. Randolph Street will be closed for through traffic going North bound, but will remain open for one way south bound traffic coming onto the square.
In order to minimize business interruptions, MCI will be working in smaller sections, approximately 1 block, during the remaining stages. Each block is estimated to take two weeks, weather permitting. Please remember, during this process, please be cautious while driving or walking near the work zone.
Entrances to the businesses will be accessible through the construction process. As the contractor is pouring sidewalks in front of businesses, pedestrian walkways will continue to shift through this process. Pedestrians are encouraged to pay attention to the changing walk patterns.
The estimated date of completion for the Downtown Revitalization Project is December 15, 2021. More information can be found on the City Macomb Website, Downtown Macomb/Facebook, or join us in the City Hall Community Room for weekly update meetings each Thursday at 2:00PM.
