McDonough County Board Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met April 12.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Vice Chair Terra Lithchfield, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, Travis Hiel, and Deckle McLean. Members absent were Chair Larry Aurelio, Cindi Helling, and Vicky Kipling. Others in attendance included Chad Wilson, Elms Administrator Tim Bledsoe, Patrick Stout, County Board Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.

Vice Chair Terra Litchfield called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approval of March 8, 2022 Minutes

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Farm Report

Nothing has been planted yet.

Administrator’s Report

Elm’s Administrator Tim Bledsoe gave the report. Census is at 72, with 7 being Medicare, 36 being Medicaid and, 21 private pay. Medicare currently owes $148,927.40. There were 10 admissions and, 11 discharges.

Financial Report

Member Hiel moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the March 2022 Financial Reports. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Elms Claims

Member Cox moved with a second by Member McLean to approve the Elm’s claims as submitted. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 5 yeas, 0 nays, 0 vacant and 3 absent.

Macomb Public Building Commission

Chad Wilson informed the Committee that they had to remove some of the new concrete in front of the Sheriff’s Department, but it will be replaced.

McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report

Chad Wilson gave the report. Wilson informed the Committee that the normal monthly maintenance has been completed along with maintenance on the mower, and the Courthouse lawn has been cleaned up. They are currently working on the plumbing project at the jail, and they shut the boiler off today.

Building and Grounds Claims

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Hiel to approve the March Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Other

Committee Member Cox has put together a proposal for the Courthouse project. Cox has talked to Klinger & Associates out of Quincy, they are currently doing a similar project and are working with an architect out of Burlington, IA. The Committee would like to meet prior to the next meeting, and change the date of return to May 9th.

County Board Chair Comments

None.

Adjourn

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Hiel to adjourn the meeting at 7:44 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
