City of Bushnell City Council met July 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

*City Treasurer Betsy Rench stated T-Mobile has some Home Town grants that she is going to look into.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda which includes.

1. Approval of Minutes from July 5, 2022

2. Accept June/Financial/Treasurers Report.

Ald. Yocum seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried

Ad hoc (Mayor’s Report)

*Mayor Wilt informed council that she would not be able to attend the 1st meeting in August due to having surgery.

*Mayor Wilt stated that at the next School Board meeting they would be discussing the closure of Spartan Drive. Mayor Wilt encouraged anyone interested to attend.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Nothing to report

Public Works

*Utility Supervisor Joe Fosdyck stated they had put it two new farm taps.

*Fosdyck also stated they are redoing the Canton border stations.

*Street Supervisor David Raymond stated they did the grinding on West main and those blocks are now ready for Oil & Chip. Raymond thanked everyone for their cooperation on this Project.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Minutes from 7/11/2022 meeting

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the fire Departments request for a special event liquor license for October 8, 2022. Ald. Coates seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. Webb “aye”        Ald. Lorton “aye”

Ald. Havens “aye”     Ald. Baker “aye”

Ald. Yocum “aye”      Ald. Coates “aye”

Ald. Allen “aye”

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

*Ald. Yocum reported that all the painting in the Rec. Center was finished and the new appliances are all in. Everything looks very nice and clean.

*Ald. Yocum also reported that the HVAC system in the gym was shot and they have got quotes from Ace Hardware for a new one.

*Next meeting July 27, 2022 4:00 @ City Hall

Engineering Report

*Ald. Lorton read an email from Engineer Greg Ryckaert stating they expect to have a construction cost estimate sometime this week on the East Side Storm Sewer.

MAEDCO

*Next Enterprise meeting is Thursday, July 21, @ 9:00.

*There will be no MAEDCO meeting in August.

*Executive Director Kim Pierce stated they are trying to get a C02 pipeline started running through McDonough and Fulton counties.

*Pierce also stated there are 16 students in the CEO program this year and orientation is August, 2, 2022.

Economic Development

*Nothing to report

* Next meeting July 25, 2022 4:00 @ City Hall

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolutions

*Nothing to report

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn.
