Pike County taxpayers paid $66,707 in Special County Retailers Occupation Tax in June, according to Illinois tax records.

This is an increase over the month before when $52,639 was collected.

Taxpayers in Pike County have paid $640,872 in Special County Retailers Occupation Tax in the last 12 months.

The Special County Retailers Occupation Tax is collected for county governments use.

Illinois is the highest taxed state in the US.

A 2021 study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 38.95 percent higher than the national average.
