Last Week | WIU finished their first half of conference play last Saturday (Oct. 17) against St. Thomas. Brittany Wulf led the Leathernecks with 13 kills as WIU fell in straight sets 20-25,21-25,13-25.
Ahead of the Pack | Heading into the second half of conference play, Brittany Wulf leads the Summit League on service aces per set. Wulf, who averages 0.49 aces per set, has had 34 aces this season. Karli Wenzel is also near the top of the statistical category. Wenzel is in second place in digs per set. Wenzel has 282 digs in 65 sets giving her an average of 4.34 digs per set.
WIU Leaders | Heading into the second half of conference play, Brittany Wulf leads WIU in kills with 221, averaging 3.20 per set. Karli Wenzel leads the team in digs with 282 digs. Julianna Schmidt has a team-best 44 blocks on the season. Elizabeth Ziegler is second on the team in kills (173) and blocks (44).
Scouting North Dakota State | NDSU comes into the second half of conference play with a 6-2 conference record. They defeated WIU 3-0 in the first matchup of the season. Ali Hinze had 16 kills in the first matchup.
Scouting North Dakota | After starting conference play 5-1, UND has found themselves on a two-game skid. The Fighting Hawks sitting at 5-3 in the conference, find themselves in the middle of the pack. UND defeated WIU 3-1 in the opening game of conference play. Ashlyn Olson led UND with 11 kills.
What's Next | After the road trip to North Dakota, Western Illinois will return to Western Hall to take on Denver (Oct. 27) and Omaha (Oct. 29).
