There were 13 offenders living in Pike County released on parole during the third quarter of 2022, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by West Central Reporter.

The data shows eight men and five women were released in Pike County. Of the parolees, two were veterans, and the median age was 36. The youngest parolee was a 27-year-old man sentenced for a crime against justice in 2019, and the oldest was a 69-year-old man sentenced for a sex crime in 2021.

The offender incarcerated the longest was Dusty Embree. He was convicted of a crime against justice in 2019 when he was 23 years old. He is now 27.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.
