City of Greenville Board of Adjustments met June 20.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Board of Adjustments meeting was called to order on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 6:00 PM by  Dale Hastings. 

1. ROLL CALL 

Committee  Members  Present: Board of Adjustments Member Dale Hastings, Board of Adjustments  Member Doug Faulkner, Board of Adjustments Member Rich  Zbinden, Crystal Grove, and Planning Commission Member  Eugene Holt 

Committee  Members  Absent: Board of Adjustments Member Rena Ward and Board of  Adjustments Member Tony Atchison 

Staff Present: Code Enforcement Officer Jeff Ketten, City Clerk Jody Weiss 

Public Present: Kim Taylor from Fayco, Evelyn & Alfred Cohoon 

2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE 

3. CITIZEN INPUT / COMMENTS ON ANY AGENDA ITEM OR OTHERWISE 

3.1. Minutes of: May 16, 2023 Board of Adjustments Meeting 

A) Motion by Crystal Grove, seconded by Rich Zbinden, approve the  May 16, 2023 Board of Adjustments meeting minutes 

RESULT: Carried 

MOVER: Crystal Grove 

SECONDER: Rich Zbinden 

AYES: Dale Hastings, Doug Faulkner, Rich Zbinden, Crystal Grove, and  Eugene Holt 

ABSENT: Rena Ward and Tony Atchison

4. PUBLIC HEARING OPENED AT 6:03 PM 

4.1. Consideration for two variances to Sections 153.0996 and 153.1076 of the Unified  Development Code, for the construction of a driveway entrance in the front yard and  a front loading detached garage on Parcel # 05-10-15-218-013, commonly known  as 1203 S Prairie Street. 

Kim Taylor from Fayco was in attendance for any questions. Mrs. Cohoon had a  question, but it was answered before the meeting began by Ketten. Motion to close  the Public Hearing by Grove, seconded by Faulkner. All voted in favor of closing  the Public Meeting. 

Zbinden asked what the use will be for the home. Taylor said this will be a duplex  with a garage and will be a residential home with 3 bedrooms on each side. Garage  will be detached. 

Hastings asked if the driveway will be a pull in and drive out rather than a circle  drive. Taylor said yes as this is better for their buses.  

Ketten advised no neighbors reached out to oppose the variance. 

Motion by Eugene Holt, seconded by Doug Faulkner, to approve the two  variances to Sections 153.0996 and 1563.1076 of the Unified Development  Code for the construction of a driveway entrance in the front yard and a  front loading detached garage on Parcel # 05-10-15-218-013, commonly  known as 1203 S Prairie Street. 

RESULT: Carried 

MOVER: Eugene Holt 

SECONDER: Doug Faulkner 

AYES: Dale Hastings, Doug Faulkner, Rich Zbinden, Crystal Grove, and Eugene Holt 

ABSENT: Rena Ward and Tony Atchison

5. ADJOURNMENT 

Motion by Dale Hastings, seconded by Rich Zbinden, to adjourn the Board of  Adjustments meeting at 6:10 PM. 

RESULT: Carried
