McDonough County Board Human Resources and Planning Committee met Nov. 9.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The Human Resources and Planning Committee met on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee Members in attendance included Chair Letha Clark, Vice Chair Vicky Kipling, George Dixon, Michael Kirby, Jerry Raby, and Dana Walker. Members Dustin Berg, and Dave Nissen were absent. Others in attendance included Animal Control Officer Wendy Hughes, Malique Reardon, Karen Blakeley, Ken Durkin, County Chair Scott Schwerer, and Deputy Clerk Stacey Alexander.

Chair Letha Clark called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from October 12, 2023

Member Dixon moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Animal Control Report

Assistant Animal Control Officer, Wendy Hughes introduced the new Assistant Animal Control Officer, Malique Reardon. Reardon gave the report, there was 28 dogs and 17 cats in the shelter at the end of October.

None.

None.

Approve Dog Registration Letter

Member Kirby moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the Dog Registration Letter. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approve McDonough County Animal Control Ordinance

Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Raby to approve the McDonough County Animal Control Ordinance. Motion carried on a voice vote.

GIS Update

No report.

Claims

Member Walker moved with a second by Member Kipling to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on voice vote.

Other

None.

County Board Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that there was a tragedy at the jail.

Adjourn

Member Kipling moved with a second by Member Raby to adjourn the meeting at 7:11 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
