McDonough County Board Finance Committee met April 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

The monthly Finance Committee meeting was held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, Courtroom 201. Committee members present were Chair Travis Hiel, Vice Chair Larry Aurelio, Letha Clark, Dave Cortelyou, Mike Cox, and Joe Erlandson. Member Dave Nissen was absent. Others in attendance included County Chair Scott Schwerer, and County Board Secretary Sara Kluthe.

Chair Hiel called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Review and Approve Minutes from March 13, 2024

Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

MCPT Report

The monthly MCPT Report was received and filed.

Bushnell Senior Meals Report Review & Approval

Member Clark moved with a second by Member Aurelio to approve the YMCA invoice in the amount of $872.99 for March, 2024. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Coroner Report

The monthly Coroner Report was received and filed.

Monthly Financial Reports

The monthly Financial Reports were received and filed. Member Erlandson questioned the balance in the Building Repair and Maintenance fund, he thought it seemed a little low. Chair Hiel believes it has something to do with investments, he will check with Treasurer Graves about it.

Transfer of Funds

There were two transfers, one on the 14th and another on the 21st.

Warrants Issued in Vacation

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Erlandson to approve the Warrants Issued in Vacation. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Insurance Update

None.

Approve the Resolution to Amend FY 2024 McDonough County Coroner’s Grant Monies Budget The account numbers listed were in question, Chair Hiel will check to make sure they are correct.

Member Erlandson moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the Resolution to Amend FY 2024 McDonough County Coroner’s Grant Monies Budget as long as the account numbers on the resolution are correct. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Approval of Claims

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Cortelyou to approve the Claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Executive Session

None.

Other

Chair Hiel informed the Committee that Crime Stoppers meal/auction is being held tonight at Park Place, he recommended attending and discussed some of the things they were going to be doing. Member Aurelio informed the Committee that he had been approached about a tent being placed in the Courthouse law for the Monopoly event on the Square, all agreed that it would be okay as long as it wasn’t near the construction going on.

County Board Chair Comments

County Chair Schwerer informed the Committee that he has received the signed contract from Cad.

Member Clark moved with a second by Member Aurelio to adjourn the meeting at 7:13 p.m. Motion carried on a voice vote.
