The WIU Men's Golf team concluded the SIUE Dolenc Invitational on Tuesday, securing 18th place with a team score of +53 for the event.

Owen Howe led WIU in his first collegiate match, finishing T56 with a score of 222 (+9). "Howe led off round one with two pars before burying an eagle on his third hole." The freshman added a bogey on the front nine to finish with a 35 (-1). On the back nine, Howe picked up three pars and two birdies. In round two, Howe started with pars on four of the first five holes and finished the front nine with a birdie. He shot five pars and ended the round with his second birdie, resulting in a 79 (+8). In round three, Howe began with a birdie and had six pars on the front nine. He was sharp on the back nine with eight pars and one birdie, finishing the round at 71 (E).

Nathan Tillman finished T69 shooting 225 (+12). In round one, Tillman recorded five pars and two birdies on the front nine. He added two more birdies on the back nine to complete the round at 75 (+4). Tillman opened round two with four consecutive pars and had two birdies for a total of 76 (+5). In round three, he shot seven pars on the front nine and added two birdies on the back nine to end at 74 (+3).

Maverick Schwabe placed T79 shooting 228 (+15) in his first collegiate match. Schwabe buried his first birdie on hole one of round one. He scored two more birdies on the front nine and eight pars on the back nine to finish at 71 (E). Similar to Tillman, Schwabe started round two with four pars. He had a strong back nine shooting one birdie, one bogey, and seven pars to conclude at 75 (+4). Schwabe had ten pars in round three and shot an 82 (+11).

The team will return to action on Monday, Sep. 23, and Tuesday, Sep. 24 at the Zach Johnson Invitational in Des Moines, Iowa.
