Western Illinois University has announced its 2023 recruiting class for track and field and cross country. Under the leadership of Director Trey Brokaw, the program welcomes over thirty-five new recruits, including five international students and eighteen from Illinois. In the past two years, nearly seventy student-athletes have joined under Brokaw's guidance.
"Our coaches did a fantastic job identifying, recruiting, and signing another large class of prospects," said Brokaw. "Culture is a major part of any successful program. We try to recruit the very best athletes possible but we also recruit successful students and individuals of high character. I'm really excited about the potential that this group has. It's one thing to sign good prospects on paper, it's another thing for those student-athletes to develop into champions. We're halfway there. I'm confident that the coaching staff and winning culture will help these newcomers achieve their athletic potential. With their addition, we have a chance to be the first Leatherneck program to win an Ohio Valley Conference team championship."
