Western Illinois University's women's tennis team is set to conclude its regular season with two matches this weekend. The Leathernecks will face Lindenwood at home on Friday at 11 a.m., marking the end of their home schedule and serving as Senior Day. Seniors Agatha Carbonell, Maria Rybka, Lorena Castellanos, and Aina Cortina-Pou will be honored.

On Saturday, Western Illinois will travel to compete against SIUE at 1 p.m.

The Leathernecks have had a challenging season so far, holding a record of 2-13 overall and 0-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Team leaders Paige Grice and Anna-Evelina Trush have each secured five singles victories. In doubles, Grice teams up with Lara Rossetto Diniz de Souza, together achieving four wins.

Their last match was on March 29 against Southern Indiana, where they were defeated 5-2. Grice and Carbonell managed individual singles victories while also winning in No. 2 doubles together.

Looking ahead, Western Illinois will participate in the OVC Tournament at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis after this weekend's matches. They are currently seeded seventh and are scheduled to play against No. 2 seed SIUE on April 19.

Lindenwood comes into Friday's match with a record of 6-8 overall and is 2-3 in conference play following their recent win over Tennessee State on April 5.

SIUE boasts a strong performance this season with a record of 14-3 overall and stands at 4-1 within the conference. The Cougars are riding a four-match winning streak, including their recent victory over Southern Indiana on April 7.
