Western Illinois University cross country athletes made significant strides at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria on Friday, with several athletes etching their names into the program's record book.

Madison Trevena now holds the second-fastest 6k time in Western Illinois' history, completing the race in 21:35 and finishing 68th overall. Freshman Kinze Kirkland-Shea also secured a spot in the record book with a time of 21:58.7, earning her the fifth-fastest time for the program and placing her 106th overall. Kirkland-Shea was able to make up substantial ground after being positioned 149th at the halfway mark.

Maleigha Huston followed for Western Illinois, finishing 190th with a time of 23:03.6. Lydia Bennett (207th, 23:22.4) and Ava Gorrie (229th, 23:45) contributed to Western Illinois' total of 728 points, resulting in a team finish of 27th place. Greta Sieren (248th, 24:28.5) and Abigail Fleming (259th, 26:34.6) concluded the team's participation for the day.

On the men's side, although Western Illinois did not have enough finishers to score as a team, there were notable individual performances that entered the program record books.

Senior Logan Lommel achieved what is now recorded as the fifth-fastest 8k time in program history by crossing in 24:32.65, securing him a position of 42nd overall after starting at 51st at the halfway point.

Logan Beckmier also joined the ranks for his first entry into Western Illinois' records with an impressive run of an 8k time of 24:42.11, placing him seventh historically within the program and earning him a placement of 66th overall.

Sean Hudspath was next for WIU at this meet; he finished in a strong position of 133rd overall with a time of 25:22.43 after improving from his initial standing of 156th at midway through his race distance. Eason Comer completed his run as well coming in at position number #237 with an official recorded time clocked off as being exactly timed out at precisely - one hour thirty minutes forty seconds point twelve seconds past zero!

Western Illinois will compete next at UT Martin during November's Ohio Valley Conference Meet scheduled on its opening day slated down onto calendar squarely placed over November first itself
