The Western Illinois Men's Basketball team has announced the addition of two new recruits to their 2025 class. The announcement was made on National Signing Day, highlighting the inclusion of Joshua Holman and Makai Kvamme.
Joshua Holman, a 6'7 guard from Madison, Mississippi, attended Jackson Academy. In his freshman year at Northeast Mississippi Community College, he averaged nine points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while maintaining a shooting percentage of 55.8% from the field. Notably, Holman scored 17 points in three different games last season and shot 60% or better in each of those contests.
Makai Kvamme hails from Skokie, Illinois, where he achieved significant success at Depaul College Prep. As a two-time state champion during his sophomore and junior years of high school, Kvamme was named MVP at the Thanksgiving tournament and earned all-conference honors while leading his team to consecutive state championships. He played club basketball for Young and Reckless for one year and primarily plays as a point guard.
Kvamme expressed his enthusiasm about joining Western Illinois University (WIU), stating that he felt connected to the basketball coaches and culture at WIU, believing it would be a good fit for him. He is set to graduate in June 2025.
