State Senator Steve McClure | Illinois General Assembly
State Senator Steve McClure is organizing his annual "Valentines for Seniors" card drive to ensure senior citizens feel remembered during the Valentine's season. The initiative aims to address the isolation often experienced by seniors in long-term care facilities.
“It’s easy for seniors to feel isolated when they are living in long-term care facilities,” said Senator McClure. “We want them to know that they aren’t forgotten and that the community loves them.”
Senator McClure is reaching out to students, scout groups, churches, and other community organizations to create homemade cards. These cards will be distributed to nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, and other long-term care establishments within the 54th Senate District.
Participants can drop off their cards until February 7th at various locations: McClure's Litchfield district office at 410 N. Monroe Street in Litchfield, his Effingham district office at 208 N. 4th Street Suite B in Effingham, or his Capitol complex office located in A-Section of the Stratton Building in Springfield. Each location will have a drop box available during business hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
