Bushnell-Prairie City Community Unit School District 170 Board of Education met Jan. 15.
Here are the minutes provided by the board:
The Board of Education met in a Regular Meeting on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School LRC with the following members present: McCleery, Miller, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman Absent: Spangler
Public Comments: John Slater spoke regarding the Tax Levy.
The Board reviewed the Consent Agenda.
Motion by Member Spangler, seconded by Member Miller to approve the Consent Agenda which contained the following: Minutes of the December 18, 2024 Truth in Taxation Hearing, Regular and Executive Session Meetings, Payment of Bills, Treasurer's Report and Investments, Student Activity Accounts, Manual and Void Checks and Imprest Ledgers. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman. Nay: None
Superintendent Gound reported that the B-PC Education Foundation will hold a Fundraiser on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Bushnell VFW. The January 6th Teacher Institute day held with Macomb School District.
The Board reviewed the additions to the Staff Handbook.
Motion by Member Thompson, seconded by Member McGrew to approve the additions to the Staff Handbook. After a roll call vote, motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Webb, Thompson, McGrew and Beekman. Nay: None
The Board reviewed the Personnel Report.
Motion by Member Miller, seconded by Member Beekman to approve the Personnel Report as follows: FMLA Requests: Sarah McGrew and Greg Jones. After a roll call vote motion carried as follows: Aye: McCleery, Miller, Webb, Thompson and Beekman. Nay: None Abstain: McGrew
Mr. Knowles, JH Principal, reported that B-PC will be singing at Busch Stadium again this year.
Motion by Member Beekman, seconded by Member Webb to adjourn to Executive Session for the purpose of discussing the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees, probable litigation against the District and student discipline. After a voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
Motion by Member Beekman, seconded by Member McGrew to adjourn the meeting. After a voice vote, all in favor, motion carried.
The next regular meeting will be held on Wednesday, Februry 19, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School LRC.
