The Western Illinois Women's Basketball team has been selected to participate in the 2025 WNIT Tournament. This announcement follows their appearance in the OVC Tournament Semifinals a week prior.
The WNIT features 48 teams, with automatic berths granted to 31 teams. These teams represent each NCAA Division I Conference, having finished highest in their regular-season standings without being chosen for the NCAA or WBIT tournaments. The remaining 17 spots are filled by top-performing teams as determined by the WNIT committee, provided they maintain an overall record of .500 or better.
Western Illinois will host Lipscomb in the first round of the tournament on Thursday, March 20, at Western Hall. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:00 pm ET. Additional details regarding opponents and scheduling will be available following the release of the full bracket on Monday, March 17.
