The Western Illinois University cross country team will begin its season on Friday by participating in the Northern Illinois Huskie Classic in DeKalb. The women's race is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's race at 6:10 p.m. The women will compete in a 5-kilometer event, while the men will run a 6-kilometer course.
Teams competing in the women's division include Chicago State, DePaul, Highland Community College, Kishwaukee College, Northern Illinois University (NIU), UNA-Northern Illinois, Illinois-Chicago, and Western Illinois. On the men's side, participants are from Chicago State, DePaul, Highland Community College, Kishwaukee College, and Western Illinois.
