Western Illinois University's men's and women's cross country teams both finished second at the Huskie Classic, according to results released Friday.
In the men's 6K race, Robert Perry led the team with a third-place finish and a personal record time of 18:46.64. Logan Beckmier placed sixth, also setting a personal best with a time of 19:14.40. Brody Harker finished in 13th place at 20:12.69, while Evan Eberhart took 14th with a time of 20:21.27.
The women's team also achieved strong results in the 5K event. Lydia Bennett was the top finisher for Western Illinois, placing sixth with a personal-best time of 18:46.30. Emma-Kate Watt came in 11th at 19:10.8, followed by Deana Hudson (14th, 19:17.51) and Aylana Cezar (15th, 19:20.60), helping secure second place overall for the team.
The next competition for Western Illinois is scheduled for September 12 at Illinois State University during the Redbird Invite.
