Western Illinois University's men's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw against Liberty University in an Ohio Valley Conference match on Sunday at John MacKenzie Alumni Field in Macomb, Illinois.

Liberty took the lead in the 32nd minute with an unassisted goal by Leo Conneh. The Flames maintained their advantage into halftime. Western Illinois faced additional difficulty after losing player Liam Gainey to a red card earlier in the match, forcing them to play with one fewer player.

Despite being down a man, Western Illinois pressed forward during the second half. Their efforts paid off in the 81st minute when Benjamin Graham scored off a rebound following a saved penalty kick, tying the game.

This draw is Western Illinois' fourth in conference play. The Leathernecks now hold a record of 1-2-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference and are 3-9-4 overall for the season. Liberty ends its trip to Illinois with two consecutive ties and has a conference record of 3-1-3 and an overall record of 7-3-5.

Western Illinois is scheduled to play Eastern Illinois on October 25 at 3 p.m.
