State Representative C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Murrayville) will host a free electronic recycling event in Griggsville on Saturday, October 25. The event is organized in partnership with CJD E-Cycling and will take place at the Western Illinois Fairgrounds from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
“Our e-recycling drive is a great opportunity for area residents to get rid of old electronics and TVs in a safe and environmentally friendly way,” Rep. Davidsmeyer said. “I want to thank CJD E-Cycling for teaming up with us for this free e-waste drive and I look forward to seeing everyone at the Western Illinois Fairgrounds on Saturday morning.”
Residents are encouraged to bring items such as TVs, monitors, dehumidifiers, servers, switches, PC towers, printers, landline phones, cable boxes, cell phones, wireless modems, audio and video equipment, holiday lights, home electronics, telecommunication items, and lead acid batteries. The collection includes CRT, console, projection, plasma and flat screen TVs as well as computer monitors.
Certain items will not be accepted at the event.
