The Western Illinois University Leathernecks Women's Golf team is set to conclude its fall season at the Charles Braun Jr. Invitational, which will be held from October 20 to 21 in Evansville, Indiana.
The team brings back two players from last year. Sophomore Sophia Thorne participated in all five events during the previous season and achieved her best result with a tie for 34th place at the OVC Championships. Fellow sophomore Cianna Law also competed in all five events last season.
New additions to the squad include junior Libby Larkin, who joins from Waterloo, Iowa, after qualifying for the NJCAA national championships while playing for Hawkeye Community College. Freshman Dina Khvastovich comes from Belarus and has won several tournaments there, including the Women's Belarus Golf Open Cup, the Spring Open Cup, and the VII Minsk Golf Club Cup.
The tournament will take place at Western Hills Country Club in Evansville. The first two rounds are scheduled for Monday, followed by round three on Tuesday.
Competing teams at this event include University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana, Indian Hills Community College, Belmont, Valparaiso, University of Alabama at Birmingham, Bellarmine, Eastern Illinois, University of Illinois Chicago, Tennessee State, and Indiana State.
