McDonough County ELMS & Building & Grounds Committee met March 14.

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee held their monthly meeting on, March 14, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Law Library. Members present were Chairman Larry Aurelio, Jerome Anderson, Dave Cortelyou, Bob Mahr, Robert Shouse, Paul Trimmer, Marcia Twaddle and McDonough County Board Chairman Scott Schwerer. Member Digger Oster was absent. Others present were Patrick Stout, Elms Administrator Tina Cox and Lead Maintenance Allen Sheffler. Beth Jameson was present as recording secretary.
Chairman Aurelio called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
Approval of February 14, 2017 Minutes
Member Oster moved with a second by Member Trimmer to approve the February 14, 2017 minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Farm Report
Board Chairman Schwerer reported that a fence row has been taken out and cleaned up. Administrator Cox reported the annual payment has been received.
Administrator’s Report
Elms Administrator Tina Cox presented the monthly report. Census today is 87-9 Medicare, 42 Medicaid, 31 Private Pay and 5 Hospice. The Illinois Department of Public Aide owes The Elms $546,411.51 for 4 months.
The commercial has been running for about a month. We have a 3 month contract. As part of the review of the marketing plan they are reaching out to outlying Hospitals. Our rehab partner share Medicare numbers and The Elms has excellent numbers. Tina will try and set up a presentation for the committee.
The Ice Cream Social will be June 4th. They continue to work on the 40th Anniversary celebration for October.
Tina received correspondence from an attorney stating The Elms is a beneficiary of an estate.
The electrical project has passed review.
Financial Report
Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Shouse to approve the February 2017 Financial Reports. Motion carried with a voice vote.
Elms Claims
Member Shouse moved with a second by Member Trimmer to approve the Elms claims. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 7 yes (Anderson, Aurelio, Cortelyou, Mahr, Shouse, Trimmer, Twaddle), 1 absent (Oster) and one pass (County Board Chairman Schwerer).
Macomb Public Building Commission No report.
McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report
Allen Sheffler, Lead Maintenance Worker, presented the monthly report. The painting has been finished in the basement. The 1st floor painting should begin in a couple of weeks.
He has talked to Steve’s Gutters and our job is at the top of the list when he returns to Macomb at the end of this month.
A bearing went out in the Courthouse boiler last week and now a motor needs replaced.
The Circuit Clerk and County Clerk will assist with payment to update to LED bulbs. Allen has been working on getting three quotes to replace the 609 tube lights.
Macomb Beautiful has been in contact with Chairman Aurelio concerning the small patch between the flower beds and sidewalk on the south side of the Courthouse. They can contact Allen directly to eliminate the strip of grass.
Building and Grounds Claims
Member Mahr moved with second by Member Trimmer to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.
Other
Member Cortelyou moved with second by Member Shouse that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
