The calls in Litchfield included 41 fires - 22 structure fires, six vehicle fires and 13 other fires.
In all, the department saw $752,600 in fire loss - or about $18,356 per fire.
The department also received 36 false calls.
The Litchfield Firefighters' Pension Fund, which has 14 active employees and 10 retired or inactive employees, was $417,840 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $10,191 for every fire in 2016.
