Report: Carrollton spent $8,969 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Carrollton Community Unit School District 1 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Greene County school district spent $8,452 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $8,969 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 610 to 574.

Carrollton's spending in 2016-17 was 31 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
