Report: Macomb spent $9,368 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Macomb Community Unit School District 185 is down 9 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Mcdonough County school district spent $10,314 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $9,368 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 1941 to 2085.

Macomb's spending in 2016-17 was 28 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
