Report: Brussels spent $12,232 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Brussels Community Unit School District 42 is up 6 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Calhoun County school district spent $11,538 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,232 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment rise over the same period, from 121 to 132.

Brussels's spending in 2016-17 was 6 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
