Report: Southeastern spent $10,862 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Southeastern Community Unit School District 337 is up 4 percent from five years ago, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Hancock County school district spent $10,492 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,862 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 563 to 486.

Southeastern's spending in 2016-17 was 16 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
