McDonough County Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met March 13. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

The Elms/Building and Grounds Committee met on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the Elms. Committee members in attendance included Chairman Larry Aurelio, Jerome Anderson, Lee Calvert, Dave Cortelyou, Bob Mahr, Digger Oster, Paul Trimmer, Marcia Twaddle, and County Chairman Scott Schwerer. Others in attendance included Patrick Stout, Tina Cox, Chad Wilson, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes. Chairman Aurelio called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.


Review & Approval of February 13, 2018 Minutes

Member Mahr moved with second by Member Oster to approve the February 13, 2018 minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Farm Report

None

Administrator’s Report

Census is at 87, with 7 being Medicare, 43 Medicaid, 31 private pay, and 6 hospice. The survey conducted went well, there were two issues and both have been addressed. The contract with the Business of Changes has been edited, there was some language in the contract that was outdated and has been removed. Administrator Tina Cox will send a copy out to the board. Member Oster and Member Trimmer are to approve the new contract.

Financial Report

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Calvert to approve the February 2018 Financial Reports. Motion carried with a voice note.

Elms Claims

Member Mahr moved with a second by Member Trimmer to approve the Elm’s claims. Motion carried with a roll call vote of 8 yays.

Macomb Public Building Commission

They are still looking at having the pole in the back of the Sheriff’s Department removed.

Zahrn Building

Bids have been received for tuck pointing on the building.

McDonough County Maintenance Directors Report

They are having trouble with heat control. The Andover System is not working and will cost around $20,000.00, probably a little more to replace it due to some new issues.

Building and Grounds Claims

Member Trimmer moved with a second by Member Anderson to approve the Building and Grounds Claims. Motion carried with a voice note.

Other

The new phones have been ordered and should be put in soon.

Member Cortelyou moved with a second by Member Oster that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried on a voice vote. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
