McDonough County ESDA & Claims Committee met April 17. 

Here is the minutes as provided by the committee:

The ESDA & Claims Committee held its monthly meeting on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was held at the McDonough County Courthouse, 3rd Floor Law Library. Committee Members present were Chairman Trevor Toland, Larry Aurelio, Dave Nissen, Paul Trimmer, Letha Clark, Jennie Hemingway, Dick Marcott, and County Chairman Scott Schwerer. Committee Member Earl Sims was absent. Also present was Edgar Rodriguez, Patrick Stout, and County Clerk Gretchen DeJaynes.


Chairman Toland called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

Approval of March 20, 2018 Minutes

Member Hemingway moved with a second by Member Nissen to approve the March 20, 2018 minutes as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

ESDA Director Report

Director Edgar Rodriguez gave the report. On April 3rd they had 49 attendees at the Storm Watchers Preparedness meeting that was held at the Health Department. Rodriguez is going to start working on a 5 and 10 year strategic plan. There is a review of the Preparedness Plan in August, the state is going to allow him a 1 year extension, so the review will be done next year. He will also begin working on updating equipment. On Tuesday Rodriquez received certification at the IEMA in Springfield.

Approval of Claims

Member Hemingway moved with a second by Member Clark to approve the claims as submitted. Motion carried on a voice vote.

Member Aurelio moved with a second by Member Clark to adjourn the meeting. With no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
