Blandinsville-Hire Fire Protection District responded to 12 calls in 2017 - 300 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Blandinsville-Hire included 11 fires - five structure fires, one vehicle fire and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $4,100 in fire loss - or about $373 per fire.

The department also received one false call.

The Blandinsville-Hire Fire Protection District had an annual budget of $38,139 in 2017.
