Pittsfield City Fire Department responded to 25 calls in 2017 - 28.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Pittsfield City included 20 fires - nine structure fires, two vehicle fires and nine other fires.

In all, the department saw $99,500 in fire loss - or about $4,975 per fire.

The department also received five false calls.
