McDonough District Hospital issued the following announcement on July 9.
Providers within the McDonough Medical Group (MMG) are currently scheduling appointments for back-to-school and sports physicals.
Many junior high and high school fall sports programs will start practice in early August, less than a month away. School physicals are required before Kindergarten, 6th grade and 9th grade. Rather than waiting until August, it is suggested to schedule a physical early to guarantee everything getting processed prior to the start of practice or the school year.
Pediatric nurse practitioner Julie Bartlow emphasized the importance of a regular visit with a primary care provider.
“It’s important to meet with your regular primary care provider annually, and school and sports physicals provide this opportunity to reconnect with parents and discuss how their child is developing,” said Bartlow, CPNP-PC, NNP-BC.
Many of the providers are accepting new patients, including: the MDH Pediatric Clinic (833-1729), Family Clinic (837-6937) and Bushnell Family Practice (772-9444).
