How much has Southeastern CUSD 337 overspent over the past 10 years?

Southeastern Community Unit School District 337 accumulated $6.30 million in debt between fiscal years 2008 and 2017, according to a West Central Reporter analysis of public schools data.

Spending and revenue data obtained for this analysis comes from the Illinois Local Education Agency Retrieval Network (ILEARN), which is part of the Illinois State Board of Education and collects data annually on school district financials.

Over the 10-year span, Southeastern CUSD 337 reported 2 percent more revenue. At the same time, total spending went down 42.4 percent. The resulting deficit shrunk by 94.5 percent from 2008 to 2017.
