McDonough District Hospital issued the following announcement on July 24.
McDonough District Hospital now offers the Forget-Me-Not Support Group for anyone who has been affected by loss during pregnancy or the loss of an infant.
The group will meet on the first Monday of each month from 6-7 p.m. in the Health Services Building 2 Multipurpose Room (lower level).
Developed in part by the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) of the MDH Obstetric Department, discussions will be led by MDH Social Services Associate Denise Reed and PFAC member Rachel Cousins.
“Loss during pregnancy or early infancy affects approximately 1 in 4 families, so members of our council saw a great need and were inspired to reach out to those affected in an effort to provide support and healing,” shared a PFAC Council member.
The group is free and open to the public. For more information or to register, please contact Advocacy Services at (309) 836-1636. To learn more about the Patient and Family Advisory Council, visit MDH.org.
