City of Bushnell City Council met May 6.

Mayor Wilt recognized residents from Washington Court who had complaints about the water issue in their area. Public Works and IMEG will be looking into this issue. They also wanted to discuss lighting issues, Public Works Director Justin Griffith will provide them with catalogs to pick out lights, which they will purchase and the city will put up.
BP manager Mr. Singh presented his plan to turn Uselton into Wash & Win, laundromat with video gaming and liquor sales. Also offering drop off laundry service and dry cleaning. It was turned over to the police committee.
Mayor recognized the Girl Scout troop 5661 that have come to experience a council meeting.

Budget approval for 2019-2020 fiscal years was moved to May 20, 2019 meeting.
Ald. Glisan made a motion to not increase the gas & electric rates of 1.9%.

Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report)
1. Mayor Wilt expressed her condolences to the Howell families on their loss of Justin Howell.
2. Mayor Wilt announced the road closure N. 1900th & E 1900th for bridge work. (Drowning Fork Creek)
3. Mayor Wilt announced High school graduation on Sunday May 12th at 2:00.
4. Mayor Wilt reported that she and Justin watched a Bluestem webinar on solar energy.
5. Mayor Wilt report that housing rehabilitation needs more people to take advantage of the monies to renovate owner occupied homes Ward 1, south of Osborn and East of Gridley. Only three home owners have signed up currently.
6. Mayor Wilt reminded residents to not blow grass into street.
Personnel/Finance/Budget
1. Ald. Norton advised they are beginning contract negotiations.
Police/Liquor/ESDA
1. Police Activity Report was submitted for April.
2. Next Meeting will be held 5/13/2019 at 4pm: 3:30 p.m. / ESDA.
3. Crossing set for May play days, close Hurst/Hail.
4. Gas Drill for Fire department is set for May 13, 2019 at 6 pm
5. Landing zone training Tues. May 7, 2019 at Elementary School 6:30.
MAEDCO
1. MAEDCO Executive Director, Kim Pierce, advised there will be a board meeting Tuesday.
2. A new set of laws will change in July for the application fee.
3. Looking for a candidate for Facilitator for the CEO program.
4. Pierce discussed the Carbon Point Wind project and the need for housing in the area for the
Black & Beatch contractors.
Engineering Report
Eric Moe with IMEG reported RLF funds need to be obligated for downtown facades. Mr. Moe also wanted to express his Thanks to exiting Alderperson James Miller.
Greg Faulkerson also gave thanks to Ald. Miller for all his dedication.
