City of Bushnell City Council met Sept. 3.

Here is the minutes provided by the council:

Mayor Wilt called the meeting to order.

The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was given.

Roll Call

Treasurer

*City Treasurer Dan Cortelyou stated that the auditors would be back in this week to Work on the audit.

Consent Agenda

Ald. Lorton made a motion to approve the consent agenda, which included the following items:

1. Approval of Minutes from August 19, 2019.

2. Approving July 2019 Financial Report

3. Accept and pay August bills

Ald. C. Howell seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Where upon Mayor Wilt declared the motion carried.

Ad Hoc (Mayor’s Report)

1. Mayor Wilt expressed a big thank you to the City workers, fall festival committee and Everyone involved in helping and making the festival a success.

Personnel/Finance/Budget

*Ald. Norton stated they had verbal contracts with 3 of the 4 unions and they would be meeting with them later this week.

Public Works – Street/Sewer/Alley

*MTC communications wants to run a cable extension down Davis to Grant. Due to the West Davis Road Rehabilitation and sewer project the city would like them to find an alternate route.

*Laurie Beekman was asking for 7 years of refund on garbage pickup. General consensus was to take no action.

*The council approved of the reply written to EPA by Greg Fulkerson of Test and recommended he send the letter out.

*Ald. C. Howell stated that the #3 well went out and they will have to replace the pump, Motor and some of the piping. Well #1 is keeping up for now.

*Ald. C. Howell stated that the city would be doing Yard Waste Collections Sept. 19 & 20.

*Ald. C Howell stated that the city would be a tire drop off on 9/23, 9/24 7a.m -4 p.m. and 9/25, 9/26 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. Limit 10 tires per household. Drop off at the Police Department.

Police/Liquor/ESDA

*Next meeting will be Monday Sept. 9, 2019 at 4:00 at the complex.

*ESDA director Jeff Rench stated there would be a PowerPoint presentation on Everbridge, the new system to take over Code Red, On Monday Sept. 9, 2019 at 3:00 at the complex.

Real Estate/Parks/Recreation

Ald. Coates made a motion to abandon the Blaine St. property and sign it over to Donald Brush. Ald. C. Howell seconded the motion. A roll call vote was taken with the results as follows:

Ald. C Howell “aye”       Ald. Allen “aye”

Contracts

*Next meeting September 12, 2019 @ 3:00 at the City Hall

*Ald. Glisan stated they would be looking into garbage collection contracts, uniforms and cleaning contracts.

MAEDCO

*Next meeting September 10, 2019 at 7:30.

*MAEDCO director Kim Pierce stated they would be having an Open house at their new location 1406 E. Carroll, September 11, 2019 from 1:00 -4:00.

*Pierce stated that Vaughan & Bushnell was gearing up for their 150th anniversary Celebration October 7th - 11th.

*Pierce stated they are still looking for an Executive Director for the McDonough County Housing Authority.

*Pierce stated the CEO program was up and going strong.

Attorney’s Report/Ordinances & Resolution

*City Attorney Humbert stated that Patty Sullivan was given more time to clean up her property.

Ald. Allen made a motion to adjourn

Meeting was adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
