MEMORIAL HOSPITAL - CARTHAGE IL: Visitor Restrictions Changes

Memorial Hospital - Carthage IL issued the following announcement on June 12.

Effective June 15, 2020 Memorial Hospital in Carthage, Illinois will have less stringent visitor restrictions.

Visitor restrictions for inpatient, surgical and obstetrics include:

• All visitors must check in at registration and must be screened

• Only one (1) designated visitor per patient

• No visitors under 18 years of age

• Visitor must be free of illness such as (fever, sore throat, cough, diarrhea, vomiting, or runny nose)

• Visitors must wear mask

• Visitor must limit movement within the hospital and avoid common areas

Visitor restrictions are temporary and subject to change as necessary. All caregivers are required to wash hands with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand foam/gel upon entering and exiting patient rooms.

While we are committed to providing a family-centered care environment, right now restricting visitors is in the best interest of our patients, employees, and community.

At this time, there have been 18 confirmed cases of covid-19 in Hancock County. If you have symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath), call the Illness Clinic at 217-357-0617 before walking in.
